Hairven Named Salon of the Year at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2019
Hairven Hair & Beauty with salons in Beeston and Gedling has been recognised as one of the best hair businesses in the country, after winning the coveted title of Salon of the Year at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2019.
Hairven salon beat hundreds of salons across Britain to secure the crown as a single independent salon venture excelling in all aspects of business.
Showing strength across the board, the salon stood out with its proven business growth, customer care and marketing strategy, as well as its understanding of the customer journey. Further setting it apart was the company’s training policy, and their eye for assessing performance and making improvements.
Hairven was announced winner at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on September 9th. Owner Collette Osborne received the award from celebrity host Vernon Kay at the high-profile affair, which attracted peers and influencers from the hair world.
Collette said: We feel amazing; we are on top of the world – close to hairven, you might say! We love our colleagues and clients, because they’re the ones that make this happen. I also want to celebrate HJ for recognising this side of the industry. Being recognised in business is everything, because a solid business is the foundation to an incredible future.
Commenting on Hairven’s success, Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards said: “To win this award, teams needed to show wide-reaching excellence. We were looking for financial health, strong customer relations, an intelligent and creative marketing campaign, and systems that care for the team and ensure their professional development. This company certainly demonstrated all of these elements and stood out as a very impressive business. Its level of excellence and Collette Osborne’s vision and results made the business the perfect winner.”
This is the second time Hairven has been singled out as Salon of the Year winners, taking this top award in 2015. See all their awards here.
Collette opened Hairven seven years ago in memory of her mum Wendy who struggled to find a hair salon that could treat her in style when she lost her hair during chemotherapy treatments.
Hairdressing was something Collette had always felt secretly passionate about so she retrained as a hairdresser and began putting her business knowledge as a successful financial director in corporate finance into building her salon.
Sadly, Wendy passed away in December 2011 in the middle of the first salon build. The company name then became obvious and Hairven was conceived – even including a halo in the logo as a final nod to Wendy’s memory.
Over the years, the business has grown from five employees to 44 stylists working across two Hairven salons.
